Need Data Protection Info
I need to know a few good sites that offer information about data protection in the European Union. I understand that some countries have more strict laws on this subject than others. In particular I have read that there is some criticism of data protection in the United Kingdom. This information is for a school writing assignment about privacy laws in Europe. If anyone has information about the data protection laws (or lack thereof) in Switzerland, Russia, and the former Yugoslav nations that would be great too. Leave a comment or email me if you find or know anything. Thanks!
Corporate Data Security
How can I convince my boss to make corporate data security a priority? Why must executives always wait until a crisis occurs before taking action? Our company IS our IP. That’s all we are at the end of the day. Yet right now our doors are wide open to even the most rudimentary hacking techniques.
So I’ve started learning about Computer Data Security on my own. I think a full blown worst case analysis might help to move things along - it might give the guys upstairs an idea of just how much damage could be done.
Next time my proposal gets rejected, I should get them to promise to stay up with me in the racks for as long as it takes to fix the next disaster that comes along. Maybe that will give them some perspective.
wireless security policy
You must be very rigid on the terms you set up in your wireless security policy. Just a verbal mention will not do; you will have to give a written statement to the employees when you are signing them into your organization and get them to sign the wireless security policy. You can get templates over the Internet to build such a policy, which you can customize to your own needs later on. Also, there must be a perfect understanding of what the wireless security policy means between the owners of the business and the employees.
Data protection
Think of it this way, how much information are they giving to other’s or selling to others. What if they are selling the data protection that contains your credit card number? This can be a devastating thing for you and your credit. You can find out whether or not they are doing their part by reading their store policy, or most of the time you can find it right under the order button.
Sites to stay away from!
It is a good idea to be aware of the criminal cyber activity that can affect you. Phishing and virus emails are the most common malicious attempts to sabotage your system or procure sensitive financial or identity details. One way to be aware of the most common scams is to have access to a list of known phishing sites. This can be most useful for corporate security or for personal knowledge of sites and emails to avoid.
