Right now it is difficult to find any jobs available out there, so if you currently have a job, even if you don’t like it, do yourself a favor and stick with it because joining the ranks of unemployment is a line you do not want to be in with our nation in the current financial crisis it is in at the moment. As the saying goes, “desperate times call for desperate measures” and that saying could not be truer in today’s times. Do not feel that any job is beneath you. So you have to go and work in a fast food restaurant in order to keep your home. Who cares? A paycheck is a paycheck and you should feel lucky enough to be one of the few who receives one. No one will judge you for the decisions you make. In fact, most people will find it honorable that you are willing to do whatever possible to make sure that you do not lose your home and that there is food on the table to feed your family.

I am a student just finishing up my actuarial science degree and looking for entry level actuarial jobs. While I have been looking at job postings, I have seen that some of the jobs want you to be a CAS associate or fellow, and I am wondering what I need to do in order to become one. I seem to remember that I need to pass all of the exams for this, but I was wondering if there was anything else that needed to be done as well as the exams. I have heard a lot about working from home but I always wondered if it was all a scam just to get me to buy a program. I was looking into becoming a medical transcriptionist and then I saw the prices that were associated with the schools. I am not entirely convinced that I will be able to earn back the amount of money that the school is charging for the certificate. How am I to know that the school is really legitimate? How am I to know that there is work after I receive this degree? Is this a scam too?
