Worm Farms

It can be the worst feeling to lift the lid to your bin and find a bunch of critters besides your worms. Some of them you may recognize and some you may not. Which is worse? Maybe knowing when you know that what you have running around in your bins are cockroaches.
Cockroaches show up in worm farms when their soil is on the acidic side. This can be neutralized with a little water and a little lime. But once you have them, they're a pain to get rid of. You can try traps, but use them outside the farm.
With a good lid, consistent monitoring of the soil, and placing the legs of your farm in containers of water, maybe the roaches will stay away. These methods will also help to prevent other unwanted visitors.

Getting rid of the cord

I am a great believer in having a simple life and that includes in the products that I buy. A few months ago I needed to buy a new lawnmower and so I decided to look at the range of cordless lawnmowers that are available, simply because I do not like to have electrical cords lying around in the garden because I think they can be dangerous. I bought a new one and I am very pleased with the job that it does and it is also very lightweight and easy to use.

The lawn looks fine

I never really liked working in my garden because I’ve always found it to be hard work. However when I spoke to a friend a few months ago he advised me to buy a Scotts lawnmower, because he told me it would really help me to do the job much faster than in a much better way. I took his advice and I can honestly say that I now do not mind doing that gardening so much because the job and really has become a much easier thing to get out of the way.

Getting a start with greenhouses

My daughter has always loved plants and gardening in general, and so when she turned eight years old a few weeks ago I decided that we would go to the local gardening center and take a look at the various types of Greenhouses that were on offer. I wanted to buy a greenhouse so that she could start to tend her own plants and see how things grow. In the end we bought a really nice plastic greenhouse, a fairly small one, which will really help my daughter to start doing things herself as far as gardening is concerned. She was absolutely enthralled with the choice, and now she spends a lot of time in the garden on her own.

Composting With Worms

Last vacation, I had been to my mom’s place and there I found her carefully collecting every bit of peel from fruits and vegetables after her cooking and putting them into a bin in the garage.
I was wondering what this bin was for it did not look like a dustbin to me. She told me that it was a worm composting bin which she had bought recently and she was making worm composts for her garden. She explained to me that because of this she was getting good vegetables and her flowers were also healthy and beautiful.

Cotton and Nylon Baby Hammocks

The two most common choices of baby hammock are cotton and nylon. Cotton is comfy. It keeps you cool even in August. But it fades and doesn’t withstand the elements well. Nylon is sturdy and it holds its shape and color, but it is more expensive than cotton. A blend seems like a good thing to look for, but we haven’t found one. (Perhaps this is a new business venture for those of you with enough energy to think in that direction.) Some hammocks look like beds–they even have quilted material that looks like a mattress pad.
