Free Flow Diagram Software

I need to do some diagrams for my school project, but obviously do not have the need to actually purchase an expensive program. I am tempted to merely download a free trial of Visio as it lasts for 60 days according to the site, but I was wondering if there is some freeware alternatives available. Doing my own research I have found a program called Kivio, but I am unsure if there is a version available for Vista or Windows in general. If you know of some easy to use and free flow diagram software please let me know via email.
